Panel discussion at the International Green Week „Investment opportunities in the agrifood sector of the Republic of Moldova“ | Berlin

The Republic of Moldova officially became an EU candidate on June 23, 2022, followed by the opening of the negotiations of the accession chapters on 14 December this year. As a result, the priorities of the Government are focusing on adoption and implementation of the EU acquis including systemic reforms necessary for EU accession. In this sense, agriculture being the main source of income for more than half of the rural population plays a key role in advancing the country towards the EU integration path.

In 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry initiated the creation of the Agrifood Partnership Platform whose first high-level meeting took place on 5 October 2023. A follow up meeting dedicated to investments in the agrifood sector will be organized within the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) on 19 January 2024 in Berlin. The event will have the format of an investment forum entitled  „Agrifood Partnership Forum“ (APF) and its organization will be ensured by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and German Agribusiness Alliance
